Screening of "The Extraordinary Caterpillar"

NMMGA members are invited to attend this education and entertaining movie screening. Celebrate Pollinator Week by joining our local Wild Ones chapter, in partnership with the Petoskey Library, to view a screening of “The Extraordinary Caterpillar.”

Caterpillars turn into butterflies and moths in an amazing transformation known as metamorphosis. At this stage of their life cycle they are important pollinators. As caterpillars they contribute to biodiversity. 96% of terrestrial bird species rear their young on insects, with caterpillars being the ultimate superfood. It takes over 6,000 caterpillars to raise a single clutch of chickadees. This beautiful film is intended to raise awareness and inspire people to restore caterpillar populations by adding more native plants to their backyards. Come see these beautiful creatures up close.
