Robin Kimmerer invites you to a Spring Plant Circle.
Dear Planters,
Do you feel it?
The days are growing longer and spring is peeking just around the corner. The birds are coming back, maple sap is running, and that smell of rain on soil calls to planters everywhere.
As we approach the Vernal Equinox, I hope this message finds you energized by all the emerging buds and shoots bursting forth. A reminder for us that even (especially!) in these troubled times, the light is coming and it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work. Purposeful action alongside our plant relatives feels like the antidote we need.
I invite you to join us in these special spring opportunities to both Raise a Garden and Raise a Ruckus!
Together for the good green world,
— Robin
Please join us on the Vernal Equinox, March 20 at 4pm EDT, as we share a rich conversation about the botany of buds, Indigenous culinary traditions, and practicing resistance by reconnecting communities with the land.
Our special guest this season is Sean Sherman, an Oglala Lakota chef, educator, and activist. Known to many as The Sioux Chef, Sean is revitalizing Indigenous food systems across Turtle Island through his cooking, writing, and teaching. Our Plant Circle also features an inspiring conversation with Brooklyn Rewilders about bringing nature’s gift economy into our cities.
The video link will be available on our YouTube channel at broadcast time for live participation and on demand for viewing afterward, so watch whenever works for you. For now, save the date! We hope you'll gather with the Plant Baby Plant community to mark the season.
