This class is at the North Central Michigan College Health & Science Building room 335. Fall is a great time to start planning out your garden beds for spring and for establishing perennials in the soil to make a perfect pollinator garden! In this class, participants will learn about the importance of pollinator species, their roles in the natural world, and how best to plant a nourishing garden that supports pollinator lifecycles. The instructor will discuss how to incorporate native plants into landscaping designs, planting tips and tricks, and the basics of how to manage pollinator-friendly habitats in your backyard. 

Instructor: Lauri Juday

No one works harder than Lauri Juday of Walloon Lake to nurture and protect Monarch butterflies and other pollinator species. Last fall, she was awarded the Keep Michigan Beautiful, Inc., President’s Award for “Monarch Butterfly Protection.” She has extensive knowledge of pollinators and has been a guest speaker and lecturer on Monarch butterfly and other conservation efforts across Northern Michigan.
